Dying for the Prince

Published by jskelton at 11:46 am under Classic Video Games Edit This

After watching just a little bit of previews of the new Prince of Persia game (X-Box 360/Playstation 3), I have to say this: I am simply dying to get this game. I have always been enchanted by the Prince of Persia series, but the storyline, gameplay, and sheer beauty of this December release has just won my heart.

In 2008, we have a new Prince (who isn’t a prince at all, simply a vagabond), a new female ally (who fights with Prince the entire game and prevents him from dying), and an amazing mystical storyline woven from deeper myths than the original game. Not only that, but the game is non-linear. Watching trailers, it feels like a rebirth of Shadows of the Colossus.

As GamingToday recently shared, the gaming classic Prince of Persia had humble origins. Inspired by The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, the original story was based on rescuing a princess. As time progressed, so did the storyline. By creating a new prince, PoP is venturing to recreate the classic and captivate our hearts once more.

Take a look at the music trailer for this beautiful game, and tell me you don’t want this game.
