WoW: Lunar Festival is Here
That’s right - the World of Warcraft Lunar Festival has begun today. This is by far my favorite festival, probably because of its real life correlation, the Lunar New Year.

Thanks to the new achievement system, there’s a lot more reason to go through the festival this year, most prized being the coveted title of Elder! Also, every elder you visit gives you 75 reputation with the Alliance/Horde. That’s a total of about 5600 reputation across all city factions, if you’re not exalted yet.
Clothing
There are six clothing pieces that are purchasable with 5 Coins of Ancestry each (gotten by visiting the elders.) For the feminine look, there are green, pink, and purple dresses; there are also blue, black, and teal pant suits. Tailors can also pick up a suit and dress pattern: both are red in color when made. The patterns also cost 5 coins each.
Fireworks
There are tons of fireworks to be had. Engineers will want to spend their Coins of Ancestry on the Schematics for a Firework Launcher and a Cluster Launcher, as well as the firework recipe collections Small Rocket Recipes, Large Rocket Recipes, Cluster Rocket Recipes, and Large Cluster Rocket Recipes. Each costs 5 Coins of Ancestry, and the collections have multiple schematics in them. You can also purchase Elune’s Candle for 10 silver, which shoots fireworks directly at a target. Any Lunar Festival Vendor will also have directly for sale Small Blue, Red, and Green Rockets; Blue, Red, and Green Rocket Clusters; and Festival Firecrackers.
Achievements
In order to get the Elder Title, you will need to complete all the Lunar Festival Achievements. This means you will need to visit all the elders in Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, the major Horde and Alliance cities, Northrend, and several dungeons (most of which are also in Northrend.) You will also need to get Elune’s Blessing, which is achieved in Moonglade by taking the quest, standing in the moonlight glow of Omen’s Corpse, and then turning it in. You will also need to purchase one dress or pant suit, and fire off 10 Red Rocket Clusters and 10 Festival Firecrackers, all in 30 seconds each.
I highly recommend reviewing Wowhead’s guide if you need help finding locations, etc.
Good luck, and blessed Lunar Festival to you all!
