Ulduar: Another week without 3.1

Yes, WoW fans, another week has passed by without patch 3.1. This patch has been highly anticipated since its baby days, and we’re all peeking in every day to see when it might come about. Looks like we’ll have to wait at least one more week before we see Ulduar, the Argent Tournament, dual specs, and even Noblegarden (which was moved to April 26th.)
In another twist of thoughts, GhostCrawler brings up an interesting point in this thread about the game becoming “easier”:
While we obviously disagree on WoW being dead, you make one point I wanted to echo which is that the average raider (or at least players interested in end-game content) are more sophisticated now. The game’s community has matured as the game has matured. There are so many information sites out there with a great deal of depth. In the MC days, nobody had Deadly Boss Mobs or Omen (though we did have Decursive). You didn’t link videos before your boss attempt. Half your group probably didn’t know about the EJ website and there was no AJ. Players figured out what worked for them and focused less on optimization because there was no gigantic community out there advising them on how to optimize. I’m not saying that kind of community progression was a bad thing at all. But it definitely changes the experience.
So then, GC is suggesting that the game hasn’t gotten easier - the players have gotten smarter. (Yes yes, insert a guffaw here.) But I think GhostCrawler does have a point; over the years, fan sites have grown and evolved to cater to make the average player aware of all the tricks of the trade, and so not only do more players know how to min/max their class, they also expect the same out of other players. I think many also forget that Naxxramas is only an entry level raid instance, and the grand scheme of Blizzard is far greater in this expansion than what we were first given.
Side-note: VenusG apologizes for the long hiatus, as personal situations have interfered with having a regular ability to post. I should be back on a fairly regular schedule now.
